When Evelyn \u00ddr welcomed her first Icelandic Sheepdog, Reykjavalla \u00cdslands S\u00f3mi, six years ago, she found the available information on the breed’s origins was often limited. This discovery sparked a personal research project to gather sources and make a more comprehensive history of the breed accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this online presentation, Evelyn will share insights from her research, tracing the journey of the Icelandic Sheepdog through the centuries: their arrival with the first settlers, their role as essential partners in self-sufficient farming, and their ultimate rescue from the brink of extinction to survive in a changing world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evelyn holds an MA in Cultural Science and runs a tourism business in the North of Iceland. Her passion for the breed led her to create a dedicated exhibition at her farm, giving the Icelandic Sheepdog a platform and making its incredible story visible to visitors and enthusiasts from around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
